We are a registered charity overseen by an enthusiastic volunteer committee with a passion for providing a positive early experience of education for your children.
For further more in depth details please visit our Information Page.
During their time with us we aim to enhance the development of each child. We aim to provide a safe, secure, stimulating and above all fun setting to ensure that your child’s first experience of education is a positive one, resulting in a confident transition to mainstream school.
OUTSIDE AREAS
We have large outside play areas giving the children opportunities where they can play in the mud kitchen, use the climbing frames and sand pits, ride bikes or trikes, role play in the shop or if they choose they can sit in the quiet area and look at books. Different daily activities are set up so the children can access all areas of the EYFS curriculum.
INSIDE AREAS
The children are able to, independently, select their own activities. This could be anything from using the tablets, playing in the home corner, using bricks to construct, painting to dressing up. If they prefer they can also choose a book in the quiet area.
Brighton Hill Pre-School was originally set up in 1973 in the hall of Brighton Hill Community School. We moved premises in 2001 to the Baptist church and then moved in 2004 to what was the early years unit of Beechdown school. The preschool has its own grounds with canopies to accommodate all weathers. Our garden comprises of zoned areas with a mud kitchen, bug hotel, a pirate ship and an area for the children to ride their bikes, trikes and scooters among other things. Inside we have two bright playrooms. The Ladybird room which caters for 2 year olds and the Bumble Bee room for the 3-4 year olds, all with equipment chosen to meet the needs of all children.
We are a pre-school providing excellent Early Years Child Care and Education for children 2, 3 and 4 years old. We are based in Barber Road just off Brighton Way. Our staff are qualified to NVQ Level 3 or are working towards this qualification. All our staff are First Aid trained and have Level 4 Safeguarding. We follow the EYFS framework where your child will learn through their play.
Your child will have their own key person who will monitor their progress and provide you with regular updates on their progress. We are always available to talk to during school hours and we are happy to help.
Brighton Hill pre-school is always pleased to welcome new members to join our committee and contribute to the running of the group.
Through government funding schemes, Brighton Hill Pre-school can provide free early years education for up to 30 hours per week for all children aged 3 and over; and 2 year old children who meet eligibility criteria.
